The City Treasurer is elected from the community at large during mayoral elections, which are every four years. The City Treasurer is bonded and performs duties set by state statute, including the review of reports on all money paid into the city and review of payments. Monthly reports are prepared and provided to the City Council showing the state of the finances of the City. An annual report is also prepared at the end of the fiscal year that includes the total amount of all receipts and expenditures of the City and transactions made as Treasurer during the preceding year.
