The Department currently employs 15 school crossing guards to staff 12 elementary school crossings. Below is a map showing the attended crossings.
Twelve of the guards are assigned individual locations, and three of the guards are on call to staff crossings in the event that the assigned crossing guard is unavailable.
These dedicated individuals work throughout the school year, no matter what the weather.
They safely cross approximately 600 children per day and have an impeccable safety record. |
