Follow the t n-foot rule and make sure there is at least a 10-foot separation between the tr you are going to climb and nearby power lines. • Do not stick fingers, toys, your little sister’s ponytail, pencils, pens, knives, letter-openers, action figures, keys, chocolate, gum, paperclips or really anything into electrical o tle s. Let your parents plug in lamps or appliances or toys for you. • As tempting as it may be, don’t tug on electrical c rds hanging low enough to reach—you never know what it on the other end (a heavy lamp, toaster, brick, etc.) and whatever you do, don’t put electric cords in your mo th! • Stay away from downed power lines.
