Spring Cleanup Program


Program Status

In November the City Council voted to discontinue the Spring Clean Up Program.  In an effort to divert items from landfills and be environmentally responsible the City is promoting other alternatives for disposal, recycling, reuse of items.  There were numerous items put out at spring clean up that could have been recycled or taken to hazardous waste drop off.  Below is a list of alternatives for recycling/disposing of materials usually reserved for the Spring Clean Up Program. 

Veolia Pick-Up – Veolia charges $20/cubic yard of materials for pick up. Veolia will send out a representative to give estimates based on the amount of materials. Veolia:  630-587-8282

Veolia Drop Off - Veolia has transfer station in Batavia for a fee ($87.00 for up to a ton of materials).  There is also a free recycling drop off.  The facility is located at 766 Hunter Street, Batavia 630-879-3587. The hours are Monday thru Friday 6 am – 5 pm and Saturday 6 am – 10 am.

Kane County Electronic and Book Recycling Days – This program takes place the second Friday and Saturday of each month from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.   Items accepted include computers, televisions, and entertainment equipment.  Books are also accepted. Schedule information: 630-208-3841

Salvation Army – The Chicago Office will arrange for pick up of items, including furniture in good condition at 312-738-4360.

Household Hazardous Waste Drop Off – The nearest facility is the Naperville Fire Station #4, at 1979 Brookdale Road.  (½ mile south of I-88, corner of Route 59 and Brookdale Rd.)
Open on Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M.

Goodwill - Two nearby locations are drop-off only; Batavia 450 N. Randall Road 630-761-8049, South Elgin, 260 Randall Road 847-741-0236.


City of St. Charles weekly refuse and recycling collection- Veolia will pick up large items at the curb throughout the year, provided there is a sticker on it.
