New City Website Debuts

On Friday, Feb. 10, the City of St. Charles unveiled an updated City website. The new site features a fresh new look and more multimedia content, with improved search capabilities and site navigation. More importantly, the website has been restructured so residents, businesses, and visitors can find the information they need quickly and easily. All are encouraged to log on to http://stcharlesil.gov and take a look around.

Visitors to the site will notice a new homepage with improved graphics, easy-to-use menus, and audience-focused navigation blocks. The new navigation makes it easier than ever for users to find what they are looking for, with information targeted to Residents, Business and Visitors. These sections will automatically refresh to include the topics and subjects that are most frequently referenced, making it easier for users to get to information quickly.

The number of stakeholders using the city’s website as a source of information and news has increased tremendously over the past few years. In the 2011 resident survey, the website was identified as the second-most used means of obtaining information about City services or activities. The survey showed that 20% of respondents rated the website as their top source of information.

Further information will be provided as the city rolls out the new site. In the meantime, feel free to check out the new look and features.
