Beginning May 7, Main Street will be reduced to two lanes (one eastbound and one westbound) starting at the 7th Ave. intersection and continuing to 10th Ave. Lane closures eventually will extend along Main St./IL Rt. 64 to IL Rt. 59 and will remain in effect throughout the duration of the project. Also please note reduced speed limits in the construction zone.
Note: Although this IDOT contract has been designed in two stages during the weekly progress meetings the project has primarily been discussed as one large project, for that reason these updates will be presented in a similar format until the actual construction work commences. The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) is launching a project to reconstruct, widen and resurface Illinois Rt. 64 from 7th Avenue east to Illinois Rt. 59. General contractor Martam Construction is scheduled to begin work April 16, 2012, with anticipated completion in August 2013.
The curbside southbound lane on Randall Road between Prairie and Oak will remain closed through Friday, April 27. The lane was closed Tuesday afternoon to fix a water main break. While the water main has been repaired, road repair will continue for the next two days. Please use extra caution when driving through the work zone. We apologize for any inconvenience.
