The painting contractor continued touching up unfinished areas inside the building. Various contractors were on site performing punch list work. Landscaping work, treatment system performance optimization, and punch list work are scheduled for this coming week.
Week of Oct. 10
The underground piping contractor abandoned the utilities associated with the old Booster Pump Station. The contractor began demolition of the old Booster Pump Station. The fence contractor continued installation of the ornamental fence and gate. The contractor began removing curb, gutter, and existing pavement in anticipation of new curb, gutter, and pavement installation next week. The painting contractor continued touching up unfinished areas inside the building. Various contractors and manufacturer’s representatives were on site to continue startup procedures for the facility and perform training for the City’s Water Division.

The facility is operational, but water in the Ground Storage Reservoir will still blend with Outer Pressure Area water until water quality sample results are completed. Demolition of the old Booster Pump Station is scheduled for this coming week.

The plumbing contractor was on site to insulate copper piping. The painting contractor completed the remaining floor coating system installation inside the building. Various contractors and manufacturer’s representatives will be on site next week to continue startup procedures for the facility and perform training for the City’s Water Division.

The plumbing contractor was on site to install restroom fixtures, laboratory casework fixtures, and insulate copper piping. The painting contractor completed installing the floor coating system in the northern part of the building, and they are scheduled to complete the remaining floor coating system installation this coming week. The SCADA contractor continued wiring the Programmable Logic Controllers and began startup testing. The treatment equipment manufacturer was on site to continue startup procedures for the facility and perform training for the City’s Water Division.

The underground utilities contractor continued installation of the High Pressure Zone water main and installed the pressure tap into the Low Pressure Zone water main. They will continue installation of the High Pressure Zone and Low Pressure Zone water main this coming week.
Week of Nov. 15
The concrete/reinforcement contractor installed reinforcement and poured the concrete for the Southeast Building Corner Walls from Footing to Precast Ceiling Plank height. They also continued reinforcement installation for the building walls above the High Service Pump Room. They will continue reinforcement and concrete installation this coming week. The contractor installed waterproofing around the High Service Pump Room and backfilled around the High Service Pump Room and the Surge Tank. The underground utilities contractor continued water main installation this week. They completed the tie-in to the Well No. 4 raw water main and installed the pressure tap into the High Pressure Zone water main this week. They will continue installation of the High Pressure Zone water main this coming week.
Week of Nov. 8
The concrete/reinforcement contractor installed reinforcement and poured the concrete for the High Service Pump Area Walls, Surge Tank Bottom Slab, and Surge Tank Walls. They also began reinforcement installation for the East and South Building Walls. They will continue reinforcement and concrete installation in the East and South Walls this coming week. The underground utilities contractor continued water main installation this week. They completed installation of the 16-inch and 12-inch Treated Water site water main this week. They also began installation of the High Pressure Zone and Low Pressure Zone water mains. They plan to continue water main installation next week.
Week of Oct. 25
The excavating contractor completed backfilling for the High Service Pump Area Slab and the Surge Tank Bottom Slab. The concrete/reinforcement contractor installed reinforcement for the High Service Pump Area Sump and Slab. They installed the concrete for the Sump in this area. They will continue reinforcement and concrete installation in the High Service Pump Area, Surge Tank Bottom Slab, and East and South Wall Footing this coming week. The underground utilities contractor continued water main installation this week. They installed an additional 40 LF of 16-inch site water main with 30 LF of 24-inch casing pipe this week. They have also completed installation of approximately 110 feet of 10-inch water main in the building footprint. They plan to continue water main installation next week.
Week of Oct. 18
The excavating contractor completed bedrock removal for tanks and piping within the building footprint. They began backfilling for the High Service Pump Area Slab. The concrete/reinforcement contractor is scheduled to mobilize on Monday, October 25th. The underground utilities contractor continued water main installation this week. They have installed approximately 210 feet of 16-inch site water main and 140 feet of 12-inch site water main. They have also installed approximately 110 feet of 10-inch water main in the building footprint. They plan to continue water main installation next week.
Week of Oct. 11
The Grouted Tie-Back Soldier Pile Wall contractor completed testing all of the tieback anchors and they have also completed installation of the lagging. They have completed the Grouted Tie-Back Soldier Pile Wall and have demobilized from the site. The contractor excavated and graded the site in conjunction with the lagging installation. They are down to bedrock elevation within the building footprint and have started bedrock removal for tanks and piping within the building footprint. They are scheduled to complete bedrock removal for the building in the next week. The underground utilities contractor continued water main installation this week. They have installed approximately 170 feet of 16-inch water main and 100 feet of 12-inch water main. They plan to continue water main installation next week.
Week of Oct. 4
The Grouted Tie-Back Soldier Pile Wall contractor completed drilling and installing the tieback anchors. They have tested all of the tieback anchors on the upper level. They have also continued installation of lagging on the south and east walls. The contractor is excavating and grading the site in conjunction with the tieback anchor and lagging installation. They are scheduled to complete lagging installation and tieback anchor testing for the wall in the next week. The underground utilities contractor began water main installation this week. They have installed approximately 60 feet of 16-inch water main. They plan to continue water main installation next week.
Week of September 27
The Grouted Tie-Back Soldier Pile Wall contractor continued drilling and installing tieback anchors. They have drilled and installed 23 of the tieback anchors, which are all of the anchors on the upper level. They have continued installation of whalers along the east wall and south walls and have tested 16 of the tieback anchors. They have also continued installation of lagging on the north and east walls and have begun drilling and installing the tieback anchors on the lower level. The contractor is excavating and grading the site in conjunction with the tieback anchor installation. They are scheduled to install lagging and tieback anchors for the wall for the next week. The underground utilities contractor plans to begin water main installation next week.
Week of September 20
The Grouted Tie-Back Soldier Pile Wall contractor continued drilling and installing tieback anchors. They have drilled and installed 19 of the tieback anchors. They have also installed whalers along the north and east walls and have tested nine (9) of the tieback anchors. The contractor is excavating and grading the site in conjunction with the tieback anchor installation. They are scheduled to install lagging and tieback anchors for the wall for the next two weeks.
Week of September 13

The contractor is excavating and grading the site in conjunction with the lagging installation. The contractor also began drilling and installing tieback anchors. They have drilled and installed nine (9) of the tieback anchors. They are scheduled to install lagging and tieback anchors for the wall for the next two weeks.
Week of September 6
The Grouted Tie-Back Soldier Pile Wall contractor completed drilling and installing the 31 soldier piles. They continued installation of the lagging on the north and east walls. The contractor is excavating and grading the site in conjunction with the lagging installation. They are scheduled to install lagging and tieback anchors for the wall for the next two weeks.
Week of August 30
The Grouted Tie-Back Soldier Pile Wall contractor continued drilling for soldier pile installation. The contractor has drilled twenty-five (25) complete boreholes for the soldier piles. The contractor has installed twenty-four (24) of the soldier piles. There are 31 total soldier piles associated with the wall. They are scheduled to complete drilling and installing soldier piles within the next week. They have also started installation of the timber lagging in the northeast corner of the wall. They are scheduled to install timber lagging and tieback anchors for the wall for the next three weeks.
Week of August 23rd
The Grouted Tie-Back Soldier Pile Wall contractor continued drilling for soldier pile installation. The contractor has drilled fourteen (14) complete boreholes for the soldier piles. The contractor has installed thirteen (13) of the soldier piles. There are 31 total soldier piles associated with the wall. They are scheduled to continue drilling and installing soldier piles for the next two weeks.
Week of August 16th
The Grouted Tie-Back Soldier Pile Wall contractor continued drilling for soldier pile installation. The contractor has drilled six (6) complete boreholes for the soldier piles. The contractor installed two (2) of the soldier piles on August 17, 2010 and they plan to install three (3) soldier piles on August 20, 2010. There are 31 total soldier piles associated with the wall. They are scheduled to continue drilling and installing soldier piles for the next three weeks. |
