The City sweeps its streets to remove sand, stone, debris, refuse, dirt, and other materials which may have accumulated on the roadway. Not only does it keep city streets clean and presentable, street sweeping also helps eliminate potential pollutants from entering the storm sewer system. Lakeshore Recycling Systems will assist with sweeping all public city streets on a regular basis according to the following schedule:
Last Week of March
First Week of May
Last Week of June
Mid August
Last Week of September
Last Week of October
Mid November
Last Week of November (after leaf collection)
In addition, there will be special sweepings for parades, festivals, special events, emergencies, accidents, leaf pick-up and severe weather events. To ensure the streets are kept as clean as possible, please make every effort to park off the streets during the weeks scheduled for sweeping.
