Cancelled: Opening of the Red Gate Bridge Pedestrian Crossing
The City of St. Charles, in conjunction with the Forest Preserve District of Kane County, will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of the pedestrian/bicycle crossing of the Red Gate Bridge Saturday, May 4 at 9 a.m. The ceremony will take place at the west entrance of the crossing off of Rt. 31, and will include brief remarks prior to the official opening. All are welcome and encouraged to wear running shoes or bring a bike and participate.

Rt. 64 Update
According to the Illinois Department of Transportation, Rt. 64/Main St. will open to four-lane traffic by mid-November, as previously scheduled, while major construction winds down for the year.
