Remember to Follow Parking Restrictions on City Streets

Just a reminder that when you park on most city streets, you will need to move your vehicle at least once every 24 hours.  (See Ordinance 2004-M-17, also Municipal Code 10.40.010.D.)  Some streets may have their own restrictions regarding days of the week, times of the day, etc., please be careful to adhere to these restrictions as well.  Also, please remember that it is leaf pick-up season.  Please make every attempt not to park in front of the piles of leaves.  If you are blocking the piles of leaves, it makes it very difficult for our crews to get to them to pick Read more »

Parking Tickets

Where/how do I pay a parking ticket?

There are many ways you may pay parking tickets. 

  • The ticket is self-addressed and may be mailed to the City of St. Charles.
  • You may drop the ticket in the City Utility Drop Box located in the parking lot between the Fire Department and the Police Department.
  • You may pay the ticket in person at the Utility Billing office between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday.

Parking Information

Reminder: There is a 24-hour time limit to park on any street in the City of St. Charles. This parking time limit was initiated to support the premise that City streets are for the movement of vehicles, not the storage of vehicles. If a vehicle is to be parked over 24 hours, it must be parked on the owner’s property.

What are the City's restrictions on parking when it snows?

General Information

The snow parking restrictions are in effect from November 1 through April 30 and are detailed in Section 10.40.060 of the St. Charles Municipal Code. Snow routes are marked with blue signs. How do I dispute a parking ticket?

Limited to parking tickets issued by the City of St. Charles Police Department.

If you believe that a parking ticket was issued improperly, the first step is to contact the Police Department and ask for the Traffic Unit Supervisor.  Either phone the non-emergency number 630-377-4435 or come in to the front desk Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.  Our front desk personnel will locate the Traffic Unit Supervisor for you.  Read more »
