Voters Registration and Absentee Voting
In order to register or re-register to vote, you must be
a U.S. citizen, 18 years of age or older on or before the next election,
a resident of the precinct 30 days or more prior to the next election,
currently reside in Kane County, and able to provide two forms of
identification, at least one of which contains your current address.
If you are a resident of Kane County you may register or re-register
in the Utility Billing and Collections Office at the Municipal Building
located at 2 E. Main Street in downtown St. Charles. The office
is open Mondays 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Tuesdays through Fridays
8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The telephone number is (630) 377-4426. If

Persons who wish to register to vote but are physically unable
to do so at the Utility Billing Office should contact the Kane County
Office of voter’s registration for further instructions.
If you have changed your name or moved since last registering,
you must re-register. If you move out of Kane County, contact the
registrar in your new county to re-register.
Early voting is available at the Utility Billing office from 22 to 5 days prior to the election. A photo ID will be required for early voting, and anyone who lives in Kane County may vote at City Hall. Hours for early voting are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Additional information on early voting is available on the Kane County Election Office web site.
Absentee voting is available for those who
are unable to make it to the polling place during early voting or on election day, from 5 days prior to the election up to the day before election day, at the Kane County Government Center Elections Department. Applications
for absentee ballots may also be filled out online at the Kane
County Office of voter’s registration. For directions
