For the Week of September 16, 2013

The construction work on the Municipal Building continues to move forward this week.  Window replacements on the upper floor of the east elevation of Old City Hall have been completed and the large “garage door” window is being installed. Replacement of the limestone base and stone copings is underway and a final washing of this elevation is scheduled in the coming weeks.

Week of September 9, 2013

The Contractor will be focusing on performing joint repairs on the existing concrete roadway between Kirk Road and 38th Avenue.  This work is expected to be completed by September 16, 2013.  Once these repairs have been made, the Contractor will begin placement of the new asphalt roadway along this same section.  These paving activities are expected to be completed by September 20, 2013.

For the Week of September 2, 2013

Restoration work on the Municipal Building continues on schedule this week. Window replacements on the upper floor of the east elevation of the Old City Hall and South Annex building have been completed, with the exception of the large “garage door” type window. Replacement of the limestone base and stone copings is underway and a final washing of this elevation is scheduled in the coming weeks.

Week of August 19, 2013

The Contractor will complete minor saw cutting and seal coating of the new concrete roadway between 7th Avenue and 13th Avenue beginning this week and completing by Friday, August 23, 2013.  Once completed, the contractor will begin the placement of roadway striping along this same section and should be completed by Monday, August 26, 2013.   The Contractor is currently anticipating the opening of this section of roadway to four lanes beginning Wednesday August 28, 2013.

For the Week of August 19, 2013

Restoration work on the Municipal Building continues on schedule this week. Window replacements on the upper floor of the east elevation of the Old City Hall and South Annex building are proceeding and will continue into next week. Replacement of the limestone base and stone copings is ongoing and a final washing of this elevation is scheduled in the coming weeks. All of the scaffolding along the east elevation has been removed and the public sidewalk has been re-opened with only minor daily closures.

For the Week of August 12, 2013

Restoration work on the Municipal Building continues on schedule this week. Restoration of the brick along the east elevation of the Old City Hall and South Annex building has been completed. Replacement of the limestone base and stone copings is underway and a final washing of this elevation is scheduled in the coming weeks. All of the scaffolding along the east elevation has been removed and the public sidewalk has been re-opened with only minor daily closures.

Week of August 5, 2013

The Contractor is currently working on the installation of the center section of the roadway at the intersection of East Main Street and the Pheasant Run main entrance.  This work will include grading, placement of aggregate sub-base, installation of bituminous sub-base and the installation of the new concrete roadway.

Week of July 29, 2013

The contractor is scheduled to remove and replace the roadway surface on South 7th Street between Oak & Prairie St., South 5th Street between McKinley and Horne St., Alley South of Fellows between 3rd & 4th St, and Alley South of Roosevelt St., between 2nd St. & Elm St. starting early this week.

Grinding, resurfacing and striping of public parking lots at the southeast corner of Second Street (Route 31) and West Main Street, and at the northwest corner of Third Avenue and East Main Street is now complete.
