For the Week of July 29, 2013

Restoration work on the Municipal Building continues on schedule this week. Restoration of the brick along the east elevation of the Old City Hall and South Annex building has been completed. Replacement of the limestone base and stone copings is underway and will be completed this week. All of the scaffolding along the east elevation has been removed and the public sidewalk re-opened.

The roofing contractor has completed approximately 90% of the replacement work. Roofing crews will be adding aluminum trim caps this week to conclude their work.

Week of July 29, 2013

The contractor is expecting to begin placement of bituminous asphalt east and west of Tyler Road beginning July 25, 2013. This work activity is expected to take place over the next two weeks, during which time motorists may experience periodic delays caused by the delivery of bituminous materials.

Week of July 22, 2013

Utility work on South 7th Street and South 5th Street has been completed and concrete work including, curb, sidewalk and driveways is scheduled for this week.

Asphalt grinding and paving contractor is scheduled to remove and replace the roadway surface starting the week of July 29th.

The grinding, resurfacing and striping of public parking lots at the southeast corner of Second Street (Route 31) and West Main Street, and at the northwest corner of Third Avenue and East Main Street is now complete.

Week of July 22, 2013

Construction activities associated with the new bridge near Powis Road are expected to conclude in the next two weeks.  Work at the bridge is expected to be completed by July 30, 2013.  The Contractor is continuing with work activities associated with the placement of the approach sections of the roadway to the new bridge. These work activities are expected to be completed by August 9, 2013.

Week of July 12, 2013

The Contractor will continue placement of the mainline bituminous sub-base for eastbound and westbound traffic from Powis Road towards Pheasant Run. This work is expected to be completed by Friday July 12, 2013.  Once this work is completed, the Contractor will begin preparing for the placement of the mainline concrete pavement for both eastbound and westbound traffic from Powis Road towards Pheasant Run. This work is expected to be completed by Monday, July 22, 2013.

Week of July 15, 2013

Mast arm bases, mast arms, and cable installation for the traffic signals have been installed. Concrete items such as curb and sidewalk have now been completed and pavement grinding is scheduled for mid week. Project completion is scheduled for the first week of August, 2013

Week of July 15, 2013

Utility work on South 7th Street started on July 2 and is to continue this week. Utility work will consist of repairs to water mains, fire hydrants, storm sewers, and sanitary sewers.

Concrete contractor is scheduled to remove and replace curb and sidewalk on South 7th Street late this week.

The grinding, resurfacing and striping of public parking lots at the southeast corner of Second Street (Route 31) and West Main Street, and at the northwest corner of Third Avenue and East Main Street is now complete.

Restoration work on the Municipal Building continues on schedule this week.  Masonry work along the east elevation of the Old City Hall and South Annex building has been completed. Replacement of the limestone base and stone copings will be complete in approximately a week once the stone is delivered from the quarry. All of the scaffolding along the east elevation has been removed and the public sidewalk re-opened.

Week of July 8, 2013

Paving has been completed on South 4th Ave, Independence Ave, Concord Ct, Williams Ave, Allen Ln, Post Rd and Wing Ln. Final cleanup and parkway restoration is planned to take place on these streets this week.

Utility work on South 7th Street started on July 2 and is to continue this week. Utility work will consist of repairs to water mains, fire hydrants, storm sewers, and sanitary sewers.
