William Turner came to St. Charles in 1982 from Wisconsin. He married his wife, Elizabeth in 1990, and moved to Batavia. He and Elizabeth returned to St. Charles in 2002. He is retired from Johnson Controls Automotive Systems Group. He worked in Quality Assurance at the Geneva, Ill., battery plant for 23 years.
Bill is past-chairman of the Government Operations and Government Services Committees. He also is the City representative on the Tri-Com Board of Directors, where he has served for the last 15 years, and has sat on the Tri-Com Ambulance Board for the last 6 years.
His wife is an educator of 32 years. She retired in 2004 from Wredling Middle School in St. Charles where she taught Language Arts and Reading. His stepson Ian and daughter-in-law Marija are realtors in Highland Park. Bill also has been president of two homeowners associations, including Renaux Manor in St. Charles.
Bill has a B.S. in Public Administration from the University of Arizona, and a Masters from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He is a member of the American Society for Quality, and is a Certified Quality Auditor. Bill has a Havanese dog named Zip-along Zoey.
