Do you have strings of holiday lights that don’t work, are hopelessly tangled, or are no longer wanted? Don’t throw them out where they’ll sit for years in a landfill—recycle them!
From now until Jan. 17, 2022, St. Charles residents and businesses can drop off holiday lights (working or non-working) and extension cords to be recycled.
Elgin Recycling will haul them away at no cost. In past collections, a ton of lights were collected—literally.
Drop Off Locations:
- St. Charles Public Works Dept, 1405 South 7th Avenue - Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 3:00 pm
- Blue Goose Market, 300 South Second Street - Daily 7:00 am - 9:00 pm
