Polar Plunge

Polar Plunge Participant

Each year, the Polar Plunge brings together thousands of warm-heated individuals from across the state. It’s a great way to support Special Olympics Illinois. All funds raised go to provide programming and events for more than 23,100 traditional athletes and 13,000 young athletes participating in Illinois.

This year’s plunge will be right here in St. Charles on March 26, 2022. Plungers will be plunging in a portable tank set up in the parking lot across from Fire Station #1. Members of the St. Charles Police and Fire departments, along with their families and friends will take the plunge. Also, Special Olympics Athlete Janna Blowers will participate again this year, along with several staff members from Janna's employer Flagship on the Fox.

Visit the St. Charles Team page at There you can learn more about the plunge. Click on the "Roster" tab to see who's plunging and to donate. Please note: there are two pages of team plungers. Click on the "2" or the arrow at the bottom of the page to see the complete line up.

One fun addition this year, the team shirts are being designed by Creative Threads, the new D303 Transition Program screen printing business.
