Matching Grants Available for Downtown Landscape, Streetscape Improvements

Sponsored by the St. Charles Corridor Improvement Commission

Matching grants are available for approved improvements to the landscape and streetscape of downtown properties located in Special Service Area SSA1B or frontage properties on Main St., Randall Rd., Kirk Rd. and Rt. 38.

Grants are awarded to property owners for landscape design services, plantings and other improvements. The Commission reviews and approves a landscape plan, and a member will visit the site when landscaping is installed to ensure the plan is followed.

The Commission is offering the 50/50 matching grants to promote general enhancement and character improvements for private properties, while creating a unified landscape aesthetic along the major corridors within the City of St. Charles.

Matthew O’Rourke, Planner at the City said: “These grants are a great opportunity for property owners to invest in landscaping upgrades to improve the aesthetics of their properties. This could be a timely venture for east side businesses, now that the Rt. 64 construction is drawing to a close.”

Eligibility and design guidelines apply. For more information, contact Matthew O’Rourke at 630-377-4443.
