Attempted Residential Burglary

On February 24, 2014 at 10:36 a.m., the St. Charles Police Department responded to a reported residential burglary in progress.  A resident of the 500 block of North Tyler Road reported hearing loud noises at the rear of his residence. The resident responded to the noise and observed a subject attempting to force entry to a rear door. The lone subject observed the resident and fled the area on foot, travelling southbound on North Tyler Road. He entered the passenger front seat of a vehicle parked near the intersection of North Tyler Road and Iroquois Avenue.  The vehicle and occupants fled southbound on North Tyler Road towards Rt. 64 prior to the arrival of responding officers. 

The suspect was described as follows:

Male, white, late 20’s-early 30’s, 6’00”-6’02’, 180-200 lbs.  He was wearing wire-rimmed glasses, a gray baseball cap, gray coat/hoodie, and blue jeans. He was carrying a gray colored gym bag slung over his shoulder.

Suspect vehicle: Green, clean, newer model mini-van, possibly a Dodge.
