Ride in Kane Program offers Transport Options to Seniors and Residents with Disabilities

Qualifying residents can register with the city to receive flat-rate, curb-to-curb transport.

The Ride in Kane program is a curb-to-curb paratransport service available to residents in Kane County. The program allows seniors and individuals with disabilities to request transport for daily needs, such as appointments or commutes to work, at a lowered rate. Rides can be requested during normal hours seven days a week, and can be scheduled up to seven days in advance.

St. Charles residents qualify for Ride in Kane if they are 65 or older or have a documented permanent disability. Residents with disabilities need an RTA reduced fare card. Qualifying residents can register with the program by calling the City of St. Charles at 630-377-4426.

Fares for Ride in Kane start at $4 for the first 10 miles, with a mileage charge for trips over 10 miles. Group discounts are available for trips of three or more riders. Transportation services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and on any day of the year, including holidays.

Ride in Kane is operated through a partnership with the Regional Transportation Authority, Kane County, Pace Suburban Bus, and human service agencies such as the Association for Individual Development and the Senior Services Association.
