Demolition of Former St. Charles Mall Site Makes Way for New Prairie Centre Development

Mayor Rogina and Planning Division Manager Russell Colby were there for the demolition of the old Colonial Café restaurant on the site of the former St. Charles Mall site at Rt. 38 & Randall Road. The demolition makes way for construction of the new Prairie Centre mixed-use development. Prairie Centre will feature ten buildings, with three levels of apartments and underground parking. In addition, there will be five mixed-use buildings with first-floor commercial space and affordable senior housing also is planned. More information is on our website at www.stcharlesil.gov/projects/prairie-center.
