Support Veterans on Veterans Day and Every Day

A Letter from Mayor Ray Rogina

We’re proud of all who have served our nation. Their sacrifices in defense of the security of our nation are deeply appreciated. Here at the City of St. Charles, 28 of our employees (about 10% of our work force) are either veterans or active duty service members. They work in several departments throughout our organization. The next time you see one of them, be sure to thank them for their service. Some of them are pictured here.

This Veterans Day, our thoughts are especially with St. Charles Firefighter Paramedic Drew Perry who currently is on deployment in the Middle East. We wish him safety and hope for his speedy return to St. Charles.

Last spring, our Police and Fire Departments were recognized with an award from the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, a program of the Department of Defense. We believe in celebrating service members and supporting them when they are called to duty and are proud of this recognition.

See you at the annual Veterans Day Ceremony Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Fire Station #1 at 112 N. Riverside Ave.
