For the 32nd year in a row, the City of St. Charles’ Comprehensive Annual Financial Report was awarded the prestigious Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA). The award is the highest form of recognition in government accounting and finance. It recognizes the City of St. Charles for showing a spirit of full disclosure in clearly communicating the City’s finances.
The Certificate of Achievement program was established in 1946 and encourages governments to prepare quality financial reports. The program has gained widespread recognition as the premier indicator of excellence in governmental accounting and financial reporting.
“The City of St. Charles is proud to once again receive this prestigious recognition which reflects our commitment to transparency and clear communication of our City finances” said Director of Finance Christopher Minick. “Our comprehensive financial documents are always available online for anyone to access.”
