The repainting of the City of St. Charles water tower at 2903 Campton Hills Road was completed one month early.
The original exterior and interior wet areas tower of the 1 million-gallon fluted column elevated water storage tank were completely sanded and repainted to protect the steel structure from rust. In addition, the dry areas of the interior were spot-painted and repairs were made to the foundation, tank vents, roof and roof hatches.
“We’re glad this project finished early, before colder temperatures moved in,” said St. Charles Environmental Services Manager Tim Wilson. “Resurfacing the tower protects the integrity of the structure’s steel and improves its appearance.”
