S. 7th Ave Resurfacing to Begin in May

The City of St. Charles is resurfacing the entire length of S. 7th Avenue, from IL-64 to Division Street, a distance of approximately 1.4  miles. Work is anticipated to begin in early May, with all roadway work scheduled to be completed by mid-August. J.A. Johnson Paving is the general contractor for the resurfacing project.

“The City is utilizing a $500,000 grant from the Surface Transportation Program for this project,” said Ken Jay, Public Works Manager – Engineering. “Maintaining the City’s infrastructure is an essential service and S. 7th Avenue is a major collector street in St. Charles.”

S. 7th Avenue will remain open to traffic throughout the project, but be alert for lane closures, construction flaggers and electronic message boards to manage traffic patterns. Letters were sent to residents on S. 7th Avenue to notify them and provide additional information.
