St. Charles’ Annual Holiday Homecoming will look very different this year. There is no Electric Christmas Parade and the Lighting of the Lights Ceremony is virtual. The schedule of activities is below. For more information visit the St. Charles Business Alliance website or Facebook page.
Friday, Nov. 27 5 p.m.
Virtual Lighting of the Lights
Help us kick off the Holiday Season by watching Mayor Rogina Light the Lights in Downtown St. Charles. Coverage will begin right at 5 p.m. but you can watch the magic happen all season on the St. Charles Business Alliance YouTube channel.
Saturday, Nov. 28
Kick-Off to the Holiday Tree Trail
There is no Electric Christmas Parade this year. Instead, enjoy the Holiday Tree Trail. Take a stroll down the 1st Street Water Front Walkway to see Christmas trees decorated by local organizations and businesses. The decorated trees will be up through Jan. 1, 2021, so you can stop by anytime to see them.
Santa's House, Saturday 1-4 p.m.
Santa's House will be open for visitors from 1 p.m.-4 p.m. on the East 1st Street Plaza. The house will be set up so Santa will be socially distant from visitors, still allowing for a photo to be taken. A mailbox also will be available for children to leave their letters.
St. Charles businesses will also offer holiday-related deals, specials and events and be featured on the Holiday Homecoming website.
“We want to make sure to set the expectation that this year is going to look significantly different than previous Holiday Homecomings,” St. Charles Business Alliance executive director Jenna Sawicki said. “While there will be major changes in place, we have been working hard to keep the holiday spirit of this amazing, community event alive so that we can keep the joy and benefits it brings to our businesses and community.”
