Walk to School Day is Oct. 6

Making Kane County Fit for Kids, a nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing Childhood Obesity, estimated that in 2019, 86 schools in Kane County participated in Walk and Bike to School days, with an estimated 21,500 students walking, biking, or participating in school activities. Kane County had the highest participation in walk and bike to school day of all the counties in Illinois. Walk to School Day encourages participants to enjoy the benefits of physical activity regularly. Walking and biking have health benefits and are environmentally friendly.
