Be a Part of the Special Olympics Torch Run!

The St. Charles Police Department is excited to announce that this year, they will be hosting the Kane County portion of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Illinois. The Torch Run brings awareness and helps with fundraising for the athletes who participate in Special Olympics Illinois.

What is the Law Enforcement Torch Run?

The Run includes an annual intrastate relay conducted by officers representing every branch of law enforcement within the state. Approximately 3,000 officers will carry the Flame of Hope nearly 1,500 miles, running through thousands of Illinois communities via 23 different legs (routes) to its final destination – the Opening Ceremony of the Special Olympics Illinois Summer Games in Normal.

Event Details

This is an all-inclusive 2.7-mile run with some Special Olympics athletes. Bring your family and friends! Here are the run details:

Date: June 11, 2022

Time: 9 a.m.

Place: St. Charles Police Department

                1515 W. Main St.

Cost: Free, donations to Special Olympics Illinois welcome!
