Country Club Lift Station Reconstruction
The City of St. Charles is reconstructing an existing sanitary sewer lift station at the St. Charles Country Club. The Country Club Lift Station Reconstruction Project includes the construction of a new lift station to replace the existing 30+ year old facility that is nearing the end of its useful life. Funding for this project is being financed in whole by the Water Pollution Control State Revolving Fund (SRF). The SRF program is administered by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency and receives a portion of its money to fund these types of projects from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The $544,886.78 loan has an interest rate of 1.35% and will be repaid over 20 years. Once complete, this project will improve sewer system operations for the City of St. Charles by reducing the potential for sanitary sewer system overflows that can occur when lift stations fail. SRF programs operate in each state to provide communities the resources necessary to build, maintain, and improve the infrastructure that protects the environment.
