Sand Bags and Sand

sandbagsCome spring and summer, the City can expect heavy rain storms and the potential for flooding to accompany those heavy rains. In order to assist citizens that experience flooding due to significant rain events, the City will provide sand and sand bags at our Public Work Facility when a significant rain event is expected.

Brush and Yard Waste Collection

Free Bagged Yard Waste

Take advantage of free bagged yard waste pick up the weeks of March 18, March 25, April 1 and April 8, no sticker needed.  Yard waste in bags or rented toter bins from Lakeshore Recycling will be collected on your regular refuse collection day.  Beginning April 15, regular collection begins and a sticker will be needed for yard waste bags. 

Start, Stop or Transfer Utility Services

Utility services provided by the City of St. Charles include electric, water, sewer, and refuse.

The City also offers a Renewable Generation Energy Purchase (RGEP) program for City electric customers.

To start, stop or transfer existing utility services, residential and business customers must call or visit the Utility Billing office at least one business day before the scheduled date and request service be transferred into their name.

Weekly Leaf Collection Update

Wednesday, December 13

The 2023 Leaf Collection Program has concluded.  

Lakeshore Recycling Systems will provide free bagged leaf collection for the rest of December, through December 27, for any remaining leaves on your regular refuse collection day. 

Friday, December 1

The City's contractor, Kramer Tree Specialists has started working on the final west-side collection.  Weather has caused collection efforts to slow down, but crews are working diligently to get leaves collected.
