Police Launch Law Enforcement Club for High Schoolers

Focus on Careers in Law Enforcement

The St. Charles Police Department has launched a new Law Enforcement Club for St. Charles Community Unity School District 303 high school students interested in law enforcement careers.

The student-led club is open to any St. Charles high school student interested in pursuing law enforcement as a career, or with a general interest in police work. The club offers hands-on opportunities to learn, discuss current events, and network with guest speakers who work in the law enforcement field. Giving back and volunteering in the community also is a central theme of the club.

The Safe Haven Law Saves Babies from Unsafe Abandonment

Not too long ago, an infant was found deceased in a backpack along a roadway in unincorporated Wheaton. Incidents like this are incredibly sad, and they should not happen. Please help us spread the word about Illinois' Safe Haven law, which gives a desperate parent a safe alternative to abandoning their baby.

Newborns up to 30 days old can be brought to any hospital, emergency care facility, staffed police station or staffed fire station–no questions asked. The baby is taken to a hospital for a check up and then placed with a pre-approved adoptive family.

Serve On City Boards and Commissions

The City’s various commissions are an interesting and active way to get involved in City government. The commissions discuss important matters in great detail and make recommendations to the City Council. They work closely with City staff on projects large and small that have a great impact on residents and businesses, both now and far into the future.

Get Involved

Traditional methods of resident input are always available, but the City has taken on special initiatives to proactively seek out the unique insights of people throughout the community and provide different input opportunities to suit a variety of preferences. Every resident is encouraged to participate in any or all of these opportunities. We know how much everyone cares about the future of St. Charles, and City staff want to work in partnership to make that vision a reality.
