Stern and Stetson Avenue Base Reclamation Project

The City will be base reclaiming Stern Avenue between Kirk Road and Kautz Road as well as Stetson Avenue between Stern Avenue and Swenson Avenue. The current roadway base is structurally insufficient which has resulted in the rapid deterioration of the driving surface. This project will strengthen the base and repave the road, providing a smooth driving surface for years to come.

  • Proposed Improvements:
    • Utilities: Replacement of aging storm sewer, water valves, and fire hydrants.
    • Roadway: Replacement of damaged sidewalk and curb and gutters. Base stabilization with cement and asphalt paving.

    • Road Closures:  Intermittent short-term road closures will be utilized throughout the project. Scheduled weekend closures will be required for base reclamation work.  No long-term road closures are anticipated.
