2026 Street Rehabilitation Project

The City will be undertaking street resurfacing projects at various locations throughout the community aimed at maintaining the current roadway infrastructure. See project details below and please check back for project updates as we progress through construction.

Proposed Improvements: This work generally includes repairs to the existing curbs, sidewalks, utilities, and providing a new asphalt roadway surface. On certain streets, work will be coordinated with the Lead Service Line Replacement Project in advance of resurfacing. Project Locations: See attached location map for streets included in this project, including tentative phasing throughout the town.

Road Closures: Short-term road closures may be required at intermittent times. No long-term road closures are anticipated.

Update - 9/25/26

Area 2 (Oak Street incl. side streets & S 3^rd St

Concrete removals and replacements are expected to continue next week on Oak St, East of S 9^th St. Mid-week, removals are expected to begin on S 3^rd St.

Utility repair and replacement work is expected to begin next week in Lead Service Line Area 2 and continue thru the end of the week.

Update - 9/17/26

Area 2 (Oak Street incl. side streets & S 3rd St [EXCLUDING LSL Area 2])

Concrete saw-cutting is expected to begin on Monday, September 21^st.

Concrete removals and replacements are expected to begin next week on Oak St, East of S 9^th St, on Wednesday, September 23^rd.

Area 3 (S 2^nd Ave, S 3^rd Ave, S 4^th Ave, S 8^th Ave, S 10^th Ave, Walnut Ave, Indiana Ave)

Utility structure repair and replacement work is expected to begin on S 2^nd Ave on Monday, September 21^st.

Utility structure repair and replacement work is expected to begin on S 10^th Ave & Indiana Ave on Wednesday, September, 23^rd.

Update - 9/10/26

Area 2 (Oak Street incl. side streets & S 3^rd St [EXCLUDING LSL Area 2])

Fire hydrant, watermain, and valve replacement work is expected to take place next week on Tuesday, 9/15, and Thursday, 9/17, on S 3^rd St.

Beginning on Monday, 9/14, thru the end of the day Tuesday, 9/15, S 3^rd St will be closed at the intersection with Indiana St. Please seek alternate routes.

Concrete removals and replacements are expected to begin next week on Oak St, East of S 9^th St.

Area 2 (Oak Street incl. side streets & S. 3^rd St. [EXCLUDING LSL Area 2])

Utility structure repair and replacement work is expected to continue next week on Oak St. between S. 7^th St. and S. 3^rd St. Daily intersection closures are expected while work is being completed.

Update - 8/27/26

Area 2 (Oak Street incl. side streets & S 3^rd St [EXCLUDING LSL Area 2])

Utility structure repair and replacement work is expected to continue next week, focusing on S 3^rd St, from IL Rt 64 (Main St) headed South. Daily lane closures are expected. Daily intersection closures may be required.

Area 1 (Stuart’s Crossing, Blackhawk, Charlemagne, & Majestic Oaks Area)

Pavement marking work is expected to begin on Monday, August 24^th, and be completed by Tuesday, August 25^th.

Area 2 (Oak Street incl. side streets & S 3^rd St [INCLUDING Lead Service Line (LSL) Area 1 & 3; EXCLUDING LSL Area 2])

Utility structure repair and replacement work is expected to continue next week, focusing on Oak St from S 9^th St to S 3^rd St. Beginning on Wednesday, August 26^th, utility work is expected to begin on S 3^rd St from Prairie St heading North.

Pavement marking work is expected to begin on Tuesday, August 25^th, on the streets West of the intersection of Oak St & S 9^th St.

Update - 8/13/26

All work will progress thru this area generally from the Northwest to the Southeast.

Utility structure repair and replacement work is expected to continue next week, focusing on Oak St from S 9^th St to S 3^rd St.

Paving the first layer of asphalt is expected to continue on S 19^th St, S 18^th St, S 17^th St, and the Western portion of Oak St to Randall Rd. This work is expected to take place Monday, August 17^th, and be completed by Wednesday, August 19^th.

Paving the final layer of asphalt is expected to begin on Wednesday, August 19^th, starting from the Northwest and progressing to the Southeast throughout the remainder of the week.

All work will progress thru this area generally from the Northwest to the Southeast.

Utility structure repair and replacement work is expected to continue next week, focusing on Oak St from S 9^th St to S 3^rd St.

Asphalt surface removal is expected to continue on Oak St, between S 14^th St to S 9^th St. Once Oak St has been completed in this section, the contractor is expected to head back West from S 9^th St and begin work on side streets.

Paving the first layer of asphalt is expected to begin on Oak St, between S 14^th St to S 9^th St, on Monday, August 10^th. Once this section of Oak St has been completed, the contractor is expected to head back West from S 9^th St and begin work on side streets.

Sidewalk and curb replacements are expected to be completed West of S 9^th St by Tuesday, August 4^th.

Landscape restoration work is expected to begin next week on Tuesday, August 4^th.

Asphalt surface removal is expected to begin on Oak St, between S 14^th St to S 7^th St, on Wednesday, August 5^th.

Work is expected to be completed in this area on Friday, 7/24. No further work is expected next week.

Paving the first layer of asphalt is expected to be completed on Tuesday, July 21^st, in this area.

Paving the final layer of asphalt is expected to continue on Wednesday, July 22^nd, and be completed by the end of the week in this area.

Landscape restoration is expected to be completed by the end of the week.

The contractor will be performing final clean-up in this area by the end of the week.

All work will progress thru this area generally from the Northwest to the Southeast.

Remaining asphalt driveway repairs are expected to be completed on Monday, July 13^th.

Landscape restoration is expected to continue next week throughout the area.

Pavement surface removal (~2 inches) is expected to continue next week, starting Wednesday, July 15^th, and be completed by the end of the week.

Paving the first layer of asphalt is expected to continue next week throughout the area.

Paving the final layer of asphalt is expected to begin in the area on Wednesday, July 15^th, progressing from the North to the South.
