Public Works Open House May 2, 8 a.m. to Noon

Residents of all ages are invited to come out and get a behind-the-scenes look at some of the essential services that keep the community running every day.

Hit and Run Involving Fatality

On Wednesday, April 1st, 2026, at approximately 1052 pm, the St. Charles Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to the intersection of Country Club Road and North 5th Avenue, for a traffic crash involving injuries. It was reported at the time that an SUV and a motorcycle were involved in the crash, and a witness on scene reported that the driver of the involved SUV may have fled the scene.

City Invites Public Input on Riverfront Development: April 8 Workshop

Charles will begin Phase 2 planning for the future of the former Police Station site with a public workshop Wednesday, April 8, & short online survey. Residents, business owners and community members are invited to take the survey & attend the drop-in event from 4 to 6 p.m. at City Hall, 2 E. Main St., St. Charles, to provide input on the leading development concepts for the prime riverfront site.

Detached Garage Fire

St. Charles Accepting Applications for Urgent Need Home Rehab Grants

Each year, the Polar Plunge—jumping into cold water in cold weather—raises awareness and donations for Special Olympics Illinois programming and support services. On March 8, 2026, at 10 a.m., members of the St. Charles Team will take the plunge at Ferson Creek Park, off of IL Rt. 31, east of Wildrose Springs Drive.
