The City of St. Charles, an official Illinois America 250 Community, invites residents and visitors to join in celebrating America’s 250th Anniversary with a lineup of local events honoring this historic milestone.

To celebrate America's semi-quincentennial, the City will host a free patriotic band concert from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 4, on the 1st Street Plaza in downtown St. Charles. The Fox Valley Concert Band will play patriotic favorites along the scenic Fox River. Seating is limited, and attendees are encouraged to bring chairs.

The official America 250 flag will be raised outside the Municipal Building, 2 E. Main St., on the morning of July 1, and Municipal Building tower lights will be illuminated in red, white, and blue to celebrate the holiday. Additional City highlights include America 250 commemorative banners and a display along Main Street, and a tree planting at the St. Charles Police Department.

The City’s “America’s 250th Celebration” webpage serves as a central hub for programming from the St. Charles Public Library and St. Charles Park District, including information on this year’s spectacular Fourth of July fireworks display at Langum Park. Community Photo Request The City invites residents and visitors to submit Fourth of July photos from St. Charles, including the upcoming 2026 celebration or past years. Images featuring family and friends enjoying Independence Day may be sent to info@stcharlesil.gov with the participant's name and town of residence. Selected photos may be featured in a commemorative social media video.
