National Hispanic Heritage Month occurs annually from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15. In St. Charles, the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning reports that more than 12% of the city's population identifies as Hispanic.
There are many ways to celebrate Hispanic heritage, from shopping at La Huerta Grill & Market to taking the St. Charles Business Alliance’s Tortilla Tour.
At the St. Charles Public Library, see the D33 Ballet Folklórico de West Chicago on Sept. 19; attend the Hispanic Heritage Celebrations from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 2; and make your own skull piñata on Oct. 7.
