ST. CHARLES, Ill. (July 8, 2025) – Jessica Bridges was sworn in as City Clerk at the July 7, 2025, City Council Meeting. Bridges will serve a two-year term, with the position up for election in 2027. Bridges was appointed by Mayor Clint Hull with the advice and consent of the City Council.

The Clerk seat was vacated after Susan Hanson, who had won in the April 1, 2025, election, declined to take office after relocating outside of St. Charles. Hanson ran unopposed as former City Clerk Nancy Garrison chose not to seek another term. Garrison was temporarily reinstated as Interim Clerk until a permanent appointment was made.

Bridges is a Field Service Engineer for Agilent Technologies, and earned her Bachelor of Science in Meteorology at the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Fla. She also had previously run for Ward 1 Alderperson in 2023.

“On behalf of the entire St. Charles City Council, I extend a warm welcome to Jessica and look forward to working with her,” said Mayor Clint Hull.

The City received 12 applications for the Clerk position and candidates were interviewed by Mayor Hull and City Council members. The City Clerk is responsible for attending all City Council meetings, taking meeting minutes, and signing official documents.
