Police Training

**PLEASE NOTE: There was no shooting incident** St. Charles Police were conducting a regularly scheduled internal police training exercise inside a secure facility. The Police Department conducts these trainings multiple times throughout the year. As with similar internal trainings, advance public notice was not provided because the activity was not visible to the public. This differs from the recent FBI training at the Charlestowne mall site, which was conducted in a highly visible public setting. The radio communications associated with the training were conducted on a police department training frequency, as the use of secure communications is an integral part of realistic law enforcement training. We realize some misinformation has been shared and wanted to provide clarification to ensure that accurate information is available to the public.
