Stay informed with emergency alerts, service updates, and community news. You choose how you want to by notified—to your home, mobile or business phone; email address, or as a text messageSTC Alerts is powered by Everbridge.

Emergency Alerts

Urgent, time-sensitive situations that may impact public safety. These messages can be sent at any time of day or night.

Service Notifications

Updates about City services and operations—either scheduled or unplanned. Generally sent between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m., but can be sent in overnight hours if warranted. For example:

  • Water or Sewer Service Disruption
  • Electric Outages – When outage is expected to last at least four hours or impacts a large segment of the City
  • City Road Work
  • Traffic Advisories/street closures
  • Brush & Leaf Collection Updates
  • Public Safety Information – Crime trend alerts
  • Seasonal Reminders (snowfall parking bans)

Community Announcements

General information to help keep residents in the know. Only sent between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. Examples:

  • Large Community Events or Special Events
  • Public Education – Crime and fire prevention tips, scam awareness, etc.

  

Getting Started

Signing up is easy. Simply create your Everbridge Community Profile. You can register phone numbers and email addresses to receive notifications. You can even choose locations you want to be notified about, such as a neighborhood within the City of St. Charles boundaries. The information you provide is secure and will only be used for these notifications. Alerts are limited to events occurring within the City of St. Charles.

Receiving Notifications

When the City of St. Charles issues an alert, a notification will be sent to the contact method(s) you registered. Some alerts will request that you confirm receipt. If you confirm, no additional contact attempts will be made for that alert. If you do not confirm, the system will continue trying to reach you through all of the contact methods you have provided.

Stop Receiving Notifications

You can stop receiving messages any time by removing your contact information from your profile.

Weather Alerts are Not Sent

STC Alerts will not send weather watches or warnings. Follow the National Weather Service or area media for official weather-related information.
