The national search for the St. Charles Chief of Police remains actively underway to identify the ideal candidate who will bring strong leadership to the St. Charles Police Department.

The application process identified several high-quality candidates. The City extended an offer to a candidate but, unfortunately, the individual accepted a police chief position in another community. Therefore, the City is continuing the recruitment process to find an individual who best meets the needs of St. Charles.

“Given the importance of this position, it is essential we take the necessary time to make the right choice," said Mayor Clint Hull. “We are confident the right candidate will emerge who embodies the priorities of the Police Department and the values of our community.”

"The City is committed to a careful and intentional hiring process," said Heather McGuire, City Administrator. "We will continue our candidate evaluations to identify a leader whose experience and strategic vision align with the City's needs.”

Mayor Hull, members of the City Council and select staff are participating in the candidate review process. Deputy Chief Eric Majewski has been serving as acting Police Chief while the role has been vacant.

“We are so proud of our police department and thankful each day for the work they do to protect our community,” said Mayor Hull. “I want to thank acting Chief Eric Majewski and the entire department for their work and for taking an active role in our search for a new Chief.”
