There is a water main break near 1545 W. Main Street. Repair work will begin this evening (January 2, 2026) and is expected to continue through tomorrow.
During repairs, eastbound IL Route 64/Main Street will be reduced to one lane. In addition, the right-turn lane into the frontage businesses and the St. Charles Police Station will be closed. Access to these locations will be available via S. 17th Street or S. 14th Street.
Once the water main repair is complete, both eastbound lanes of IL Route 64/Main Street will reopen to traffic. However, the right-turn lane will remain closed until necessary roadway repairs can be finished.
