This year our nation will celebrate its 250th anniversary on July 4th and everyone is invited to be a part of the celebration here in St. Charles. There is a full lineup of community events for all ages to honor this historic milestone.

St. Charles Fourth of July Celebrations Through the Years

If you have celebrated the Fourth of July here in St. Charles, we’d love to see it! Share your favorite Fourth of July photos with family or friends — whether they’re from years ago or just last summer. Even better, show us a ‘then and now’! Just email your photos to info@stcharlesil.gov, include your name and town you live in, and we will create a social media reel to commemorate the occasion. Submissions will be accepted through May 15.

Concert on the 1st Street Plaza

Enjoy a patriotic band concert from the Fox Valley Concert Band July 4, noon to 1 p.m. on the 1st Street Plaza.

Flag Raising Ceremony

Join us outside the Municipal Building, 2 E. Main Street, June 15 at 6:00 p.m., as we raise the official America's 250th Flag

Special Proclamation

The Official America's 250th Proclamation will be read at the June 15 City Council Meeting, 7 p.m. in Council Chambers, at the Municipal Building 2 E. Main Street.

  • Displays in the Main Street and interior reception windows at the Municipal Building, 2 E. Main Street
  • Municipal Tower lights in red, white & blue
Other Recognitions
  • A commemorative tree will be plated on the Police Department grounds
  • St. Charles has officially been designated as an Illinois America 250 community
