The St. Charles 708 Community Mental Health Board will consider requests for funding for fiscal year 2026-2027 at its annual meeting April 15, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. in Council Chambers, 2 E. Main Street. Applications will be accepted through March 9, 2026. Agency applications and guidelines are on the City of St. Charles website.
Last fiscal year, the City Council approved $679,000 be distributed by the Mental Health Board to 20 qualified not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) agencies. These agencies serve the residents of St. Charles by providing services related to mental disorders, developmental disabilities, and substance abuse.
Since 1986, the City has levied a tax dedicated to the mental health needs of the residents of the City of St. Charles. Historically, the tax has been approximately $0.04/$100 of EAV. The Community 708 Mental Health Board reviews funding requests from local mental health agencies and recommends distribution of the collected funds.
