Structure Fire

St. Charles Fire Department Press Release
 The St. Charles Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire located in the 300 block of Chestnut Ave. at approximately 4:15 a.m. on May 28, 2026. The first unit arrived on scene in approximately 5 minutes and reported nothing showing from the exterior.

 

The fire was reported by the homeowner who extinguished the fire prior to fire crews arriving on scene utilizing a fire extinguisher.

 
There were no firefighter injuries with one civilian injury reported at this incident. The civilian was treated at the scene and signed a medical release. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
 
The St. Charles Fire Department was assisted at this incident by fire departments from Batavia, Geneva, Elburn, North Aurora, and West Chicago, and the St. Charles Police Department.
