On Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at approximately 5:09 p.m., the St. Charles Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to a driveway in the 4000 block of Royal Fox Drive for a traffic crash in which a 5-year-old child had been struck.
Upon arrival, officers located a neighbor performing CPR on the child and immediately took over. Police and Fire continued to perform life-saving measures on the scene, and the child was ultimately taken to Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. The driver of the vehicle was identified as an immediate family member and has been fully cooperative throughout the investigation.
The St. Charles Police Department is continuing to investigate the crash and has been assisted by the Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team (KCART).
