Community & Economic Development

Community Development oversees long-range planning of the community, administration of zoning and subdivision codes, development review and approval processes, building permitting and inspections, stormwater management permitting, and property code enforcement. The department's mission is to preserve and enhance community character and natural resources, while improving the community; enhancing quality of life; and responding to community needs through orderly planning and regulation of development within St. Charles.
