Arcada Theatre and Club Arcada Receive Temporary Occupancy

4/3/19 UPDATE

4/3/19 UPDATE: Progress continues at the Arcada and we are doing weekly follow-up inspections. The major work right now involves the electric service for the building. The City is currently doing work right behind the theater to make a service upgrade possible for the facility. We also continue to work on the exiting issues and Mr. Onesti has provided the exiting study as part of this effort. I don’t have a firm date for you on when all of the work will be completed.

Police, Fire & School District Work Together to Keep Students Safe

Student Safety Plans are Practiced throughout the Year

School is back in session in St. Charles August 22, and student safety is at the forefront of back-to-school preparations. Coordinated student safety plans developed collaboratively by the St. Charles Police Department, St. Charles Fire Department and St. Charles Community Unit School District 303 officials are in place to keep students safe when they are in school.

Structure Fire 1125 Fern Avenue

 At 1:21 p.m. April 21, 2019, the St. Charles Fire Department was dispatched to a reported detached garage fire at 1125 Fern Avenue. Firefighters were on the scene by 1:23 and found a detached garage well involved in fire. Firefighters had the fire under control in approximately 20 minutes however remain on the scene as of the writing of this release completing the fire investigation. Firefighters extinguished the fire, checked for any fire extension and ventilated smoke. There were no occupants at home at the time of the fire and there were no injuries to firefighters.

Structure Fire 1809 Cambridge Drive

At 2:22 p.m. Jan. 13, the St. Charles Fire Department was dispatched to a reported fire in an attached garage at 1809 Cambridge Drive. Firefighters were on the scene by 2:27 and found a small fire in the garage. The homeowner had extinguished most of the fire before firefighters arrived on the scene. Firefighters extinguished the remaining fire, checked for any fire extension and ventilated smoke. There were three occupants at home at the time of the fire and all three were checked by paramedics. None required transport to the hospital. There were no injuries to firefighters.
