The St. Charles Fire Department will be conducting a water flow test at South 17th & Walnut on Tuesday, January 22, 2019. The test will begin at approximately 011:00 A.M. and finish by 12:00 P.M. the same day. Residents may experience rust in the water during or immediately after the testing procedure. The water is safe; however you may want to refrain from doing laundry until the water is clear.
The St. Charles Fire Department will be conducting two water flow tests on Tuesday, January 15, 2019. The first test at 1145 North 5th Avenue will begin at approximately 01:00 P.M. and finish by 02:00 P.M. the same day. The second test at 3451 Swenson Avenue will go from 02:00 P.M. to 03:00 P.M. Residents may experience rust in the water during or immediately after the testing procedure. The water is safe; however you may want to refrain from doing laundry until the water is clear.
St. Charles just experienced its first significant snowfall of the season. According to the National Weather Service, 8.1 inches of heavy, wet snow was dumped on St. Charles. Heavy snow and cold weather can pose serious health risks, especially with prolonged exposure. Children and the elderly are at the highest risk during these winter storms.
