NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
BEFORE THE
CITY OF ST CHARLES HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION
Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the Historic Preservation Commission of the City of St. Charles, Illinois on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at 7:00 P.M. in the City Council Chambers of the Municipal Building at 2 East Main Street, St. Charles, Illinois. The purpose of this public hearing is to hear testimony and make a recommendation to the City Council concerning the eligibility of a property commonly known as 217 Cedar Avenue, St. Charles, Illinois, for landmark designation pursuant to Chapter 17.32 entitled “Historic Preservation” of Title 17 entitled “Zoning” of the St. Charles Municipal Code (the Zoning Ordinance). The property proposed to be designated as a landmark is legally described as follows:
LOT 1 IN BLOCK 3 OF THE ORIGINAL TOWN OF ST. CHARLES, IN THE CITY OF ST. CHARLES, KANE COUNTY, ILLINOIS.

The public hearing will be held at the location identified above. Participation instructions will be posted the Monday before the public hearing at www.stcharlesil.gov/meetings. All persons who want to attend the public hearing to observe, ask questions, or offer testimony are welcome to do so. Anyone wishing to be heard for or against the proposed landmark designation may submit statements orally or in writing or both. A copy of the petition requesting landmark designation is on file and is available for inspection during normal business hours in the Community Development Department at 2 East Main Street, St. Charles, Illinois.
