The City of St. Charles offers a challenging and supportive work environment that fosters excellence, accountability, learning and professional development. This position is responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and supervising the operations, maintenance and analytical activities of the wastewater treatment facilities and lift stations. 
The Crossing Guard maintains control of children at crossing sites to ensure that children cross safely and at designated spots when school is in session.  Shifts are approximately 1 hour in the morning, and 1 hour in the afternoon.  The morning shift is generally from 8:00 – 8:45 a.m. and afternoon crossing are 3:00 – 3:45 p.m. The substitute positions fill in, as needed, during absences of those regularly assigned to crossings.

This position is responsible for performing and assisting with a variety of manual, semi-skilled, and skilled tasks in the construction, maintenance, inspection, repair, and operation of the water supply, pumping, storage and distribution of the City's Wastewater and Water Systems.
This position is responsible for coordinating the purchase and contract negotiation of commodities, materials, supplies, equipment, contractor services, and professional services in accordance with Federal and State laws and regulations, and City ordinances and policies for all City departments.

The vacancy will ideally be filled with certified journeyman lineman, however, high-level apprentices will also be considered and are encouraged to apply. The Electric Line Division is responsible for the maintenance and construction work on the municipal electric utility and fiber optic communication system, to include overhead and underground 35kV transmission, 12kV distribution, and distribution substations.
