The City of St. Charles offers a challenging and supportive work environment that fosters excellence, accountability, learning and professional development. This position is responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and supervising the operations, maintenance and analytical activities of the wastewater treatment facilities and lift stations. 
This part-time and paid-for-response position works a minimum of 6 hours a month for the required attendance of twice monthly meetings and training. Additional hours available at the discretion of the EMA Coordinator or as needed depending on special events and weather. This position will assist in the mitigation and preparedness functions related to natural, environmental, man-made or other emergencies.  This position is responsible for the delivery of City services to community special events (festivals, parades, etc..) and for maintaining and activating the Emergency Operations Center.  

This position is responsible for management of the Electric Line Division in accordance with the Municipal Code(s), National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), National Electrical Code (NEC), city policies, collective bargaining agreements, and all codes and standards that apply to electric utility and metering operations. Supervise the daily activities of union (IBEW) and non-union employees, establish and enforce performance and safety standards, approve timesheets/payroll, analyze performance and efficiency, and recommend process improvements.  

The vacancy will ideally be filled with certified journeyman lineman, however, high-level apprentices will also be considered and are encouraged to apply. The Electric Line Division is responsible for the maintenance and construction work on the municipal electric utility and fiber optic communication system, to include overhead and underground 35kV transmission, 12kV distribution, and distribution substations.

This position is responsible for performing and assisting with a variety of manual, semi-skilled, and skilled tasks in the construction, maintenance, inspection, repair, and operation of the water supply, pumping, storage and distribution of the City's Wastewater and Water Systems.

The City of St. Charles offers a challenging and supportive work environment that fosters excellence, accountability, learning and professional development. This position performs sample collection and professional laboratory analysis of samples as prescribed by the US Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA), Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) and the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH). Samples include municipal and industrial wastewater, natural waterways, sludge, and water distribution.

Inventory is stocked in a multi-level indoor/outdoor area.
