Permitting
St. Charles is a Certified Community for Stormwater Permitting. The City administers and enforces the Kane County Stormwater Ordinance within the corporate limits (including the portion of St. Charles located in DuPage County).
The City has adopted:
Stormwater Permits for work within St. Charles corporate limits are submitted to the Community Development Department, utilizing the City's Site Development / Stormwater Management Permit application:
Enforcement and Maintenance
The City monitors and inspects privately-owned detention basins in the City and advises owners of maintenance issues. Maintenance issues that are not addressed may be referred for Code Enforcement follow up.
