The St. Charles Police Department conducted additional traffic enforcement during the week preceding the Christmas holiday and leading into New Year’s Day. These extra patrols were held in conjunction with the nationwide Click It or Ticket/Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over enforcement effort. The St. Charles Police joined other state and local law enforcement agencies across Illinois with their effort.
During the mobilization, detail officers:
- Arrested 1 driver for DUI.
- Arrested 2 motorists for driving without a license.
- Issued 11 speeding citations.
- Issued 10 citations for various other traffic violations.
- Officers also wrote an additional 4 warnings.
The Click It or Ticket/Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over mobilization was made possible with federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
